A pleasant surprise when I arrived at Duxford at doors open on Friday, to find the Corsair from The Fighter Collection sitting out on the airfield. An even more pleasant surprise later on that morning when I was invited out onto the airfield to photograph the Corsair ground running. As the Corsair was in the middle of the hanger, it meant that a few of the collection had to be moved from inside to outside and a photo opportunity not to be missed. I also had an invite across the barrier for a look see at the progress being made on the P-47. Many thanks to everyone at The Fighter Collection and 'Team P-47' for a very enjoyable morning.
ARCo were also moving some of their fleet about from the north side of Hanger 2 as Spitfire AR213 was moved to Hanger 4. In the afternoon there was some flying, first by a Hercules from Mildenhall that did a slow wheels down pass and then a fast wheels down pass before heading into the west. A bit later, the 'Kent' Spitfire did a run and break and parked up in the ARCo compound. As it was parking up, Richard Grace arrived in the family run about and then proceeded to perform a series of most excellent aerial maneuvers before landing.
